Role Overview
In this role, you will lead end-to-end technology transfer activities, ensuring smooth transition of processes from R&D to pilot and commercial manufacturing.
You will play a key role in designing robust, scalable, and safe processes, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful product commercialization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead technology transfer (TT) from lab to plant scale
- Develop and execute scale-up strategies
- Prepare and review:
- TT protocols
- Validation plans
- Scale-up reports
- Equipment equivalence documents
- Analyze process chemistry & impurity profiles
- Perform risk assessments (What-if, HAZOP studies)
- Ensure process safety compliance (RC, DSC, powder safety studies)
- Act as SPOC for TT projects
- Coordinate with R&D, Production, QA, Engineering, and EHS teams
- Troubleshoot scale-up challenges and process deviations
Technical Skills Required
- Strong knowledge of reaction engineering, heat & mass transfer
- Expertise in unit operations:
- Distillation
- Extraction
- Crystallization
- Filtration & Drying (RVD, ANFD, VTD)
- Experience in mixing & agitation scale-up (P/V, NJS)
- Hands-on experience with tools like:
- DynoChem
- MixIT
- Understanding of GMP and process validation
Process Safety Expertise
- Identification and interpretation of:
- Reaction Calorimetry (RC)
- Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC)
- Powder safety studies
- Hazard identification and mitigation planning
- Safe handling of hazardous chemistries
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experience in end-to-end technology transfer
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to design “what-if” scenarios for process robustness
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills
- Proven track record in scale-up and commercialization
